Brian Holman of the Seattle Mariners has his perfect game against Oakland broken up with two outs in the ninth when Ken Phelps, a former Mariner, hits a first-pitch fastball far into the Bay Area night. Shaking off his disappointment, Holman strikes out the next batter, Rickey Henderson, and completes a 6-1 victory over the A's.
