Book Rec of the Day 4/4/2007
Daniel Silva is reinvigorating the spy novel with his Gabriel Allon series. Allon is an Israeli art restorer and spy who, in this fifth novel, is called to investigate a bombing at the Israeli Embassy in Rome. The plot sucks him deeper into a vortex of terrorism that relates to the long conflict between Israelis and the Palestinians and delivers an accomplished, riveting story, as well as an excellent introduction to recent Israeli history.
