Scumble River, a sleepy, fictional town in rural Illinois, sees more than its fair share of homicides. Luckily school psychologist and sometime detective Skye Denison lives there. When town tastemakers Barbie and Ken Addison are found murdered, Skye investigates and finds some flaws in their perfect lives. Swanson’s fifth book in her Scumble River series is good, light diversion, perfect for a cozy window seat on a winter’s afternoon.
