Second-ranked Massachusetts (28-1) survives a stern challenge before more than 20,000 fans in Freedom Hall, edging the Louisville Cardinals, 62-59. All-American center Marcus Camby is brilliant, hitting 8 of 10 shots from the field and all 7 of his free throws, including a pair with seven second left to establish the final margin. Coach John Calipari's Minutemen will compile the best record in school history (35-2) but falter in the national semis to eventual NCAA champion Kentucky, 81-74.
