3/1/1958:
Tim Tam, a 3-2 favorite ridden by Bill Hartack, finishes second in the Flamingo Stakes at Hialeah but is awarded the victory when Jewel's Reward is disqualified for bumping into him down the stretch. A son of the great Tom Fool, Tim Tam will go on to win the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness before losing to Cavan in the Belmont Stakes.
