Gordie Howe sets a playoff record by scoring only nine seconds into the game and assists on the game-winning goal by Ted Lindsay in double overtime as the Detroit Red Wings defeat Toronto, 4-3, at the Olympia to advance to the Stanley Cup finals. Howe’s quick tally betters the mark of 10 seconds set by Dickie Moore of Montreal just last week.
